The Nat Geo Series was inspired by "Five Elements," an exhibit of work by the Photographic and Digital Artists held at Paul's Photo in Torrance, Calif., in July 2011. Artists were required to adhere to the photographic standards of National Geographic magazine (no manipulation after the shot is captured) in our depictions of the five ancient elements.
